Class Description
During the course of 4 hours, students will reinforce reverse image searching and EXIF analysis then The Image Intelligence (IMINT), Optical Character Recognition (OCR), and Video Analysis course begins with a primer about Image Intelligence (IMINT) and immediately dives into metadata types – EXIF, XMP, and IPTC. Students are exposed to command-line and web-based tools for analysis and considerations for using each. In instances where no metadata exists, students are provided with techniques to attempt reverse image searching in addition to introductory photo forensics. Next, students will learn to enhance images, extracting/downloading video, and use Optical Character Recognition (OCR) tools.

Prerequisites
This is an advanced course that assumes some knowledge, comprehension, and experience with OSINT. No accounts are explicitly needed, although having social media accounts (they do not have to be your real account nor do they need to be fake [Sock] accounts) to follow along with will not hurt. Students having taken another course from The OSINTion are more likely to benefit from the material in this course. First-time students seeking initial foundational instruction about OSINT are advised to take The OSINTion’s Accelerated Introduction to OSINT course first.
