Class Description
The Introduction to Cryptocurrency Investigations course is a fundamental course that begins by providing students with definitions and concepts associated with Cryptocurrency as a means of level setting. From here, the course moves into an understanding of exchanges, regulations, and the ability to identify various address types. The course concludes with a survey into the methods using free tools, techniques, and resources that can be leveraged by investigators.
In brief, this course covers the following via lectures, labs, and demonstrations:
- Understand fundamental concepts associated with the cryptocurrency ecosystem
- Cryptography, Cryptanalysis, and Cryptocurrency
- Blockchain
- Concepts within blockchain
- Non Fungible Tokens (NFTs)

- Cryptocurrency Types & Addressing
- Investigation Tools, Techniques, and Resources
