Class Description

The Regular Expressions (REGEX) for Intelligence course is a fundamental course that seeks to demystify regular expressions and help students gain comfort in using them in their day-to-day endeavors, whether it is programming/software engineering, offensive security, SOC, DFIR, or Intelligence role. Students will be presented with a body of text and coached through writing their own expressions to be able to extract the data they want. This course will leverage Jupyter Notebook as well as a web-based resource.

In brief, this course covers the following via lectures, labs, and demonstrations:

  • What are Regular Expressions and from where do they come
  • REGEX operators
  • REGEX Logic
  • REGEX in Python
  • REGEX parsing Lab

There are no prerequisites for this course.
